“Experimentally test the durability of the 3D printed samples under fatigue and thermo-hydro aging (PLA and PCL)”

Study conditions and possible investigation scope:

  • Thermal condition: –50 °C to +180 °C

  • Hygrothermal condition: +10 °C to +95 °C and 10% RH to 95% RH

Thesis activities:

  • Identification of the constitutive law

  • Identification of the influence of printing parameters parts durability

  • Numerical simulation and prediction of thermo-hydro-mechanical behavior (Comsol, Ansys, …)

  • Possible applications: durability of 3D printed parts for biomedical applications, included, but not limited to, medical devices, devices for veterinary medicine, tools for outdoor sport activities, parts for rescue systems in extreme conditions
